MK7.5/MK7 Golf GTI & R Rear Spoiler Extension

Nice fit, easy install

Fits well and easy install but wish there was more to it. A bit pricey for what it is. Be careful when drilling, angle is weird and seems not right, but it works.Too early to tell if it is as robust as the rest of the kit. Wish it was made of the durable material.

Value for money is a little disappointing. Not ABS, it’s Acrylic plastic which is very brittle and I was surprised it wasn’t made of the same material as the splitters etc as advertised. At 3mm think it is probably a tad thin as I would expect for the cost.
Finish options with reversibility was great. I think the logo could be on both sides.
The OEM spoiler has ridge lines where the double sided tape goes, which looks like 3M brand but wasn’t. I placed tape as high as possible on the OEM spoiler and as low as possible on the Flow Extension. The supplied fixings discoloured when cleaning up with isopropyl after final install. Black finish was tarnished.
Rubber grommets worked well but were impossible to approach at 90deg due to using cordless drill to install. Being so close the the rear windscreen it took close attention when drilling. I would not recommend using a step drill as would be easy to oversize by accident. Recommend 6mm pilot as set and a 10mm for grommets.
I used a few dabs of black urethane in between tape to aid chemical adhesion and reduce vibration at high speed.
Instructions were good, easy a clear to follow. I know how fragile acrylic plastic can be so knew not to over tightened but definitely do not be tempted to tightened beyond moderate hand tightening as acrylic will snap and not bend with heat.
Happy with the look. Compliments my other Flow products. Side-skirts next.

The product itself is of high quality and looks awesome once installed, the fit is secure too. This spoiler extension gives the GTI a sportier touch and makes the car slightly more aggressive styling wise yet it is subtle enough to the car's overall profile as well.

However, the installation instructions needs to be clearer on some areas such as drilling positions, requirements of Allen keys was not mentioned and larger writings would be easier to read. On the drilling part, I also found stepping to 10mm hole as per the instruction says (where the blots will fit into) is slightly too big, a 9.5mm hole fits much better, but I still recommend super-glue the bolt settlers to futher secure the fit. Also applying 3M tape on the spoiler extension itself is much easier than put the taps on the OEM part then stick the spoiler extension on especially if you want a precise fit. Otherwise this whole installation process might be easier if you take the whole OEM spoiler off then put it back after installing the spoiler extension.

Overall very happy with the results and looks.
